Research & Writing on Western History by Tom W Parkin
Meet Tom
Born in British Columbia, Canada, in 1951, I have been writing non-fiction since the 1980s.
My authorial interests include history, western Canadian railroading, stone masonry, nature, outdoor recreation and geography. I bill myself as a “historical non-fiction story teller”, and aim to dig out and present the human side of history.
In addition to authoring and co-authoring four books earlier in my writing career, I have also amassed 100s of writing credits for newspapers and periodicals in Canada and the USA.
These days I offer my unique blend of knowledge and skills to help others who share the same interests – see my Services page for details.

How May I Help?
My expertise on historical topics is concentrated in British Columbia and Alberta, Canada. I’m an exhaustive researcher, with a writing style that utilizes a creative approach and a particular focus on telling the stories of the common folk who are often otherwise lost to history.
