Green Giants Rainforests of the Pacific Northwest

About the Book

Find out about North America’s green giants – why they are so special, why they are in danger, and what we must do to save them, before it’s too late.

A writer/photographer from Nanaimo has won an award of merit from the Outdoor Writers of Canada. Tom Parkin, author of Green Giants, was awarded the recognition at an annual convention of the OWC in Kamloops recently. The outdoor group is a professional association of 200 writers, photographers and producers covering outdoor recreation and environmental subjects.

Parkin's soft-cover volume discusses the ecology of coniferous coastal forests, and reinforces that we must manage them with sensitivity to natural systems.”
